Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is currently recruiting for an Outpatient Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant to provide care for an adolescent to adult caseload from 11 years old and up.

This is an exciting opportunity for PTAs who are interested in joining a multidisciplinary care team that includes primary care physicians, sports medicine providers, chiropractors, mental health providers, and physical therapists, working together to support our unique patient population.

In addition to providing the highest quality medical care to San Diego’s medically underserved patient population, enjoy opportunities to work with growing programs focused on Childhood and Adult Obesity, Long Covid, Pelvic Floor, Vestibular Rehab, and Clinical Education. This position is available as per-diem, part-time or full-time. Join an existing integrated care team that is collaborative and extremely dedicated to the patients they serve!

Responsibilities:

  • Provides treatment to assigned patients as appropriate in accordance with established standards of care and practice. Adhere to treatment plan and works within scope of practice at all times
  • Engages patients and/or parents/caregivers in treatment sessions.
  • Provides home program activities to patients and/or parents/caregivers to ensure carryover to the home environment.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
  • Assesses results of physical therapy interventions by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications to supervising Physical Therapist as needed.
  • Meets the patient's goals and needs, helping patient develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities; promotes maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level and interest.
  • Works effectively as a member of the treatment team. Communicates with supervising Physical Therapist, Case Managers, Scheduling staff, and referring providers in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • California State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
  • Meet organizational driver requirements

Pay: $27.00 - $34.50 per hour
