We are seeking a Outpatient Coder for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary:

• You will abstract clinical information from a variety of medical records, charts and documents and assigns appropriate ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes to patient records according to established procedures
• Equipment provided by KY River Medical Center.

Qualifications:

• AHIMA – CCA, CCS or RHIT

• AAPC – COC

• Must pass a coding test

• 2+ years of experience preferred in coding or medical records using ICD and CPT coding systems

• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with patient, guest, physicians, and other employees

Experience

• 1 - 2 years: 1 year experience with out-patient coding required.

• Technical/other training or better
