Reporting to the Director of our Bright Minds Out of School Time (OST) program, the OST Social Worker serves as an advocate and resource for the children and as a resource for their families and our staff.

Primary Responsibilities

· Forms positive relationships with families, children, and staff.

· Advocates for families and builds relationships and maintains monthly contact with schools and collaterals for identified youth.

· Assists the Directors and staff in developing and implementing EEC required Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and curriculum.

· Acts as a liaison between parents, collaterals and childcare staff.

· Regularly observes children in the program to help identify those that need additional supports. In addition, observes program to assist staff in utilizing appropriate behavioral methods.

· Writes behavior plans and uses other clinical assessments as needed.

· Completes 51As when needed.

· Is available during program hours to assist staff with immediate behavioral needs or crisis.

· Provides consultation with staff and parents for individual children, makes referrals if necessary.

· Provides training for staff.

· Participates in all mandatory OST Staff meetings.

Qualifications:

· Ability to practice cultural humility.

· Trauma informed.

· History or filing 51A’s and working with the Department of Children and Families

· Childcare, Residential or School experience preferred.

· Spanish/English fluency and writing skills.

· CPI Certified

· Familiarity with CBHI, ACES, IEPs/504 Ability to read and interpret IEP.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in social work or closely related field. Childcare, Residential or School experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Target hiring range is $55,000 to $65,000 depending on education and experience.
