Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator
Job Location: Boca Raton, FL (on-site)
Job Duration: 7+ month contract + extensions
Job Overview: Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases. Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration. Performs backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configures database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models, defines data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. This position optimizes database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.

Required Experience:
  • Ten years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture or a related field
  • Experience with Linux and Solaris Server environments
  • Extensive experience with SQL and PL/SQL
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle database management
  • Familiarity with Oracle database design, coding and documentation
  • Experience with database backup and recovery procedures

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Complexity:

Intermediate professional level role. Supports multiple services and multiple databases of medium to high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, multiple different systems and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of data. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or sometimes as a project advisor. May coach more junior technical staff.

  • Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
  • Develop processes for optimizing database security.
  • Set and maintain database standards.
  • Manage database access.
  • Performance tuning of database systems.
  • Install, upgrade, patching, and manage database applications.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
  • Engages with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases and monitor application performance with the database
  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
