About Maui Optix
At Maui Optix, patient care is its first priority. Established in 2009, this locally-owned business is deeply rooted in the communities it serves, ensuring community members have access to quality eye care. Offering primary eye care services, the professionals also specialize in glaucoma treatment, scleral contact lenses, ortho-k, and surgical co-management. The practice is known for supporting local communities through academic scholarships, internships, and vision screenings for school children. The team also offers services to residents in Hana, an isolated community on Maui's eastern end, and the islands of Lanai and Moloka'i.
Maui Optix ensures optimal eye health through the industry's most advanced technology and utilizes state-of-the-art vision care technology to diagnose and treat a wide array of eye diseases. The practice features automated optical equipment and behind-the-scenes functional technology, including OCT, Optos, topography, visual field, and auto phoropters. A cohesive staff of 10 employees supports a smooth practice flow, enabling the doctors to spend ample time with patients. The optical department offers an extensive collection of fashionable eyewear for the whole family—plus, the Opticians provide personal support to help patients select the best eyewear for style and vision needs.
About the Optometrist Opening
Maui Optix is seeking an Optometrist dedicated to a career of helping individuals see to their fullest as well as providing excellent eye care for Maui's growing communities. In this role, you'll provide comprehensive eye exams, diabetic eye care, and diagnose and treat glaucoma. You'll also efficiently service all patient's eye care needs and promote good eye health and preventative care through patient education. On average, 16 to 20 patients are cared for daily. The position is full-time, offering 40 hours weekly.
A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and efficiently evaluate patient issues while showing empathy in a professional capacity. Minimum qualifications include:
  • Optometry degree and passing board exam
