Berkeley Eye Center has been a Houston Vision Care Leader since 1959. With 25 locations (including 3 cataract surgery centers & more than 600 staff members) we cover the greater Houston area & Corpus Christi providing a wide variety of vision care services.
We are currently looking for an Optometrist for the following Full-Time position:
Lake Jackson /Bay City: This position provides OD coverage at two locations. Routine eye care plus co-management with BEC ophthalmologists. These locations are well-established in the area with strong community connections.
Responsibilities include analyzing vision tests, identifying sight problems and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, you should have attention to detail and be able to treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly. Note: To be considered for this position, you need to be a licensed Optometrist in Texas.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye and vision tests
- Diagnose defects of the eye, such as myopia, astigmatism and glaucoma
- Provide personalized temporary and permanent solutions to sight issues based on each patient’s specific case and medical history
- Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Advise patients on proper eye care techniques
- Keep updated and accurate medical records for all patients
Skills
- Work experience as an Optometrist
- In-depth understanding of eye conditions and vision defects
- Hands-on experience with eye examination tools, such as ophthalmoscope and tonometer
- The ability to explain medical terms simply and calmly
- Attention to detail
- Degree in Optometry
Work Schedule:
Position is 5-days a week/ no weekends.
