Take on an important role in a world-class health system by joining the Department of Ophthalmology. This Optometrist position will be working with Dr. Shawn Lin in the Cataract and Refractive Surgery practice in Westwood and Calabasas. You will be responsible for performing complete optometric examinations in areas of Cataract Surgery, Refractive Surgery, and Comprehensive Ophthalmology. Duties include, but not limited to: * Perform consultations for pre/post-operative exams * Patient education on cataract and refractive surgery options, IOL calculations, and consents * Ordering and resulting images * Authorize and review medication requests * Provide visual examinations, identify presence of pathology, and provide treatment of the visual system within the scope of optometric licensure, including writing prescriptions for spectacles * Code and bill for examinations * Answer patient emails, phone calls, and portal messages This position will also allow for the opportunity to teach and conduct research. Qualifications

Required: * Possession and maintenance of an active license to practice optometry from the California Board of Optometry * Exceptional oral and written communication skills including knowledge of medical and ophthalmic terminology to establish effective working relations with all levels of university staff, faculty,trainees, and patients * Ability to work in a cooperative and collegial fashion with other members of the Division to provide exemplary patient care * Ability to work quickly and efficiently under a variable but often very busy workload * Ability to function in a research environment with patients who are enrolled in clinical study protocols * Ability to learn new routines quickly, to follow routines consistently, and identify better ways of accomplishing routine tasks * Proficiency in Apple and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, email, calendaring programs, and web browsers * Demonstrated or acquired competency in office and medical center based data and electronic records systems (ChartLogic,Epic/Kaleidoscope, etc.)
