Optician/Optometric Technician

Location
We are located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. While we have a small town, family atmosphere, we are the 4th largest city in the state! We are 10 minutes away from HarborPark, a neighborhood alongside Lake Michigan. You can enjoy going to festivals, exploring unique attractions, and visiting museums in the area. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, there are numerous parks to bike, hike, and relax. We are also within 10 minutes of Simmons Island Beach and about 20 minutes from the Illinois Beach State Park! If you are looking to take a day or weekend trip, we are 45 minutes from Milwaukee and about 60 minutes from Chicago, the Windy City.

What You’ll Be Working On
Excellent communication and relationships with clients, deliver top-notch service
Review and collect patient medical and ocular history
Perform visual acuity, cover test, color testing, refractometry, tonometry, lensometry, keratometry, fundus photography, OCT, topography, and contact lens evaluations
Assist patients in selecting the perfect frame, provide recommendations and guidance through the sale completion
Properly fit patients for eyewear, perform adjustments and repairs
Train patients on contact lens insertion/removal as well as proper wear and care

Qualifications
Must be able to work during the following hours
(Monday and Thursday 9:30 AM-7 PM, Tuesday and Wednesday 9:30 AM-5 PM, and Friday 9:30 AM-4 PM)
At least one year of experience working in a private optometry practice required
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and have strong organization skills
Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated compassion for patients
Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment
Promote and foster a positive work environment
