Busy Multi Specialty Ophthalmology group with 9 MDs and 1 optometrist is searching for a full-time Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant.

• 3 office locations, New Britain, Bristol, and Wethersfield must be willing to travel to all locations as needed.

Schedule will be Monday-Friday, some Saturdays.

COA/COT preferred, at least 1 year experience in Ophthalmology practice, willing to train the right candidate

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Preparing the patient to be seen by the Physician by obtaining medical/social history, chief complaint, accurately checking vision, IOP, neutralizing glasses, manual refractions, instilling eye drops.

• Assisting doctors in office minor procedures, setting up procedure room, sterilizing instruments.

• Able to perform testing: OCT, VF, Optos/fundus photography, pachymetry etc.

• Computer skills/knowledge, able to accurately input all data into EHR system.

• Communication skills, respectful attitude to staff/doctors/patients, triaging calls, returning patients calls, filling ERX/pharmacy tasks, calling insurance complains to obtain prior authorizations when needed.

• Prepare, stock, and keep all exam rooms clean.

• Order appropriate tests as guided by the physicians for lab, cat scan, MRI as needed, help schedule and track these patients.

• Ability to work as a team, share responsibilities, self-efficient, complete work in a timely manner.
