The Plant Operator will be responsible for the day to day operations of natural gas cryogenic processing and retrograde condensate stabilization plants via both computer control center and onsite operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assumes the responsibility of operating natural gas plant and associated equipment including but not limited to: 2 phase and 3 phase separation, mol sieve dehydration, Expanders, centrifugal and reciprocating natural gas compressors, single and multi-stage pumps, valves, gas measurement equipment, etc.

Operating the plant equipment and system may include, but is not limited to:

  • Start-up/Shutdown of plant equipment.
  • Adjusting controls to operate equipment in the recommended or prescribed operating ranges.
  • Visually inspecting equipment and controls at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustment, or lubrication.
  • De-pressuring equipment and piping.
  • Operating valves.
  • Monitor Plant Operations and respond appropriately to emergency or upset conditions.
  • Will be required to operate under Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Implements safe work practices and participates in proactive safety culture while ensuring safety for the employee, the public, and the environment at all times.
  • Monitoring gas plant system through DCS and make calls to alert customers of situations that could affect gas or liquid deliveries.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance and record keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.
  • Reads, monitors, and records various operating conditions such as pressures, temperatures, hours of operation, fuel consumed, etc.
  • Monitoring as well as removing and replacing filters, oil, chemicals, and other lubricating fluids as needed.
  • Remove and replace gaskets as needed.
  • Remove and replace valves if necessary.
  • Changing of Gauges
  • Maintaining sites in a clean condition including picking up trash, taking out trash, etc.
  • Cleaning out of site glasses as necessary.
  • Continually improving upon meeting the needs and demands of our customers.
  • Collaborates with direct supervisor on new and improved ideas associated with an evolving plant and pipeline system.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Position requires the ability to work a rotating 12 hour 7x7 shift schedule.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical certification or equivalent training in an operational environment or energy related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a cryogenic gas plant is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Applications, (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge of the operation, control and general design of various kinds of systems typically present in a processing or fractionation plant is preferred.
  • Possession of a strong commitment to personal and job safety is required.
  • Good decision making skills and a strong work ethic is required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to maintain and promote good working relationships within a team environment is required.
  • Good organizational skills, good customer relations skills is required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with land owners and other corporate and field personnel is required.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of days & nights is required.
