Assist Operations Manager with day-to-day operation functions to keep the HSP buildings in a clean, safe, and orderly condition

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the safety and general operation of all facilities and shelters
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment for staff, and overall conditions for the participants and guests
  • Assist Operations Manager with daily and monthly safety checklist and overall maintenance of buildings owned and leased by HSP
  • Clean and re-supply restrooms and common areas at 127 Stoner Avenue including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, windows, and trash removal, etc.
  • Keep the area identified by Carroll County Government at 127 Stoner Ave free of all trash and debris to ensure a safe and clean site
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and or special projects
  • Clean, re-supply and complete safety checklist for all company vehicles
  • Notify supervisor of recurring deficiencies, safety concerns, or anything in need of repair
  • Make mechanical adjustments and minor repairs
  • Assist with the delivery of supplies to shelters and mail to the post office when needed
  • Stock supply rooms
  • Help with preparation of company events
  • Maintain accurate inventory to ensure there are adequate supplies for HSP’s operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proven work experience in maintenance and/or janitorial positions
  • Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Familiarity of Safety Data Sheets
  • Ability to prioritize the day to best suit the needs of the organization
  • Integrity and the ability to work independently
  • Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license with a clean driving record for company vehicle usage
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to read, write and provide daily and weekly productivity reports to supervisor
  • Basic computer skills such as Outlook, Excel, WORD and the ability to take online training courses
  • Ability to learn to operate and troubleshoot postage meter and multi-function devices (copiers)
  • Must be able to lift and or move up to 50 pounds

Educational Requirements/Experience: Minimum high school diploma or GED required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Work Environment: This position has contact with all levels of personnel within the organization, consumers, vendors, and other agencies. Must be able to lift and move supplies, furniture and equipment using safe practices. Must be able to drive agency vehicle. Work site may include office, shelters, and other program specific locations. Occasional early mornings/evenings/weekends may be required depending on agency needs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time

Travel Requirements: Daily local travel. Occasional distance travel may be required for meetings/training.
