Responsible for creating insights from operational and clinical data collected from core processing system and other databases, applying analytic methodologies and products and developing dashboards and other forms of knowledge sharing to optimize benefit administration. Centralize operational data and report on key performance indicators, utilization and performance metrics and operational costs using predictive and analytic models. Provide analysis and trending of operational and financial results to support leadership decisions related to expense management, staffing, workflow design and process improvement. Develop and maintain a code library and operational data that optimizes modeling and predictive analytics. Works with other areas, including the client and provider engagement and business intelligence functions to optimize the use of analytics in Operations.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain reporting package for operational areas relevant to cost drivers, production, performance, volumes, metrics and leading indicators
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of underlying data, data structures, KPIs and business uses of data. Uses this to create presentations for senior leadership that convey in-depth knowledge of data.
  • Analyze operational outcomes to identify key cost and quality drivers and trends across all operational areas
  • Engage with internal teams to understand business requirements and to support the accurate business usage and interpretation of data
  • Provide SQL programming support to develop a code base and SQL analytic data marks for various initiatives within operations
  • Analyze operational data to identify strategies to improve customer experience and profitability in a manner that is consistent with enterprise goals
  • Work with vendors and internal departments, as necessary, to develop and optimize data sources and tools
  • Creates and maintains a dynamic analytical dashboard that measures departmental performance against KPIs and targets, with advanced cost calculations and trend analysis.
  • Provide recommendations on department policies, objectives and initiatives. Evaluate and suggest changes as necessary to optimize processes and efficiencies
  • Present analytical findings to audiences of employees to executive leadership
  • Participate in special projects, as needed or requested
  • Adhere to DentaQuest business processes
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or scientific field such as Computer Science, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems or business field
  • 4 years’ experience in data mining, reporting and/or analytics, developing reporting or analytic solutions (dashboards, reports and analytic models),development experience with one of the following BI Reporting tools (Microsoft SSRS, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Expertise and hands-on experience with complex SQL queries
  • Background in extracting and compiling data, creating reports and presenting findings
  • Strong foundation in connecting data with business required
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems
  • Excellent PC skills with proficiency in MS Excel, MS Power Point essential
  • Strong customer service and analytical skills
  • Strong time management and business process skills
  • Ability to lead and work well with others
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to other office locations
  • Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of health care industry is preferred
  • Solid background in process improvement preferred
