Nutanix’s legal team responsible for supporting an exciting range of initiatives, including our product portfolio, privacy and security, as well as business and corporate development, is looking for an experienced Open Source and Product Compliance Program Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly adaptable and collaborative team player to join a growing, fast-paced cloud technology company to continue architecting a best-of-breed open source program through cross-functional collaboration, education, and automation. You will collaborate across Nutanix to continue to incorporate open source and product release process best practices across product development and engineering - implementing policies and procedures while providing guidance, education, and tools, assisting in tool implementation, scans, inbound and outbound reviews, and bill of materials creation. This role requires a proactive legal operative with a bias for action, a self-starter who loves and understands open source in enterprise technology, builds strong, collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, takes initiative to drive complex, cross-functional projects and is not afraid to step outside of the comfort zone to tackle the task of the day.

Your Role:

  • Partner with Product Development, Engineering, Developer Productivity, and Information Technology teams to implement best practices for open source and third party management and compliance.
  • Facilitate design and implementation of standards, processes, controls and tools for open source and third party compliance and legal release management. Facilitate development and implementation of controls, tools, policies, and procedures required to support the same.
  • Guide Engineering and Product teams in meeting open source and third party compliance obligations as well as legal release requirements generally, including inbound outbound reviews, training and documentation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact on open source and product release review matters for the legal team, exercising judgement in further engagement and escalations for resolution.
  • Develop and deliver training and communications on open source and product release diligence topics.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 7+ years of directly relevant experience in managing open source and other 3 rd party materials in enterprise technology technology.
  • Deep understanding of open source licenses and their compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of open source and code repository tools / build systems in connection with compliance efforts, including Blackduck, Artifactory, Nexus, Github and Jira
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently across the organization, including successfully initiating, managing, and completing simultaneous projects and new initiatives with cross-functional teams under deadline pressure.
  • Sense of humor, excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking, superior work ethic, flexibility, ability to work independently and a passion for cutting-edge technology.
  • Superior language, written and verbal communication skills.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $134,000 and $267,600 /year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
