The Town of Wellesley is seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Office Assistant for the Assessor’s Office to perform a wide variety of administrative office tasks and to provide high quality customer service to the public.

Primary duties include; maintaining the personal property database, assist with updating the Town’s CAMA system, prepare mailings for various office needs, process and maintain personal exemption applications, maintain files for property tax abatements, and prepare case files for property tax appeals at the State Appellate Tax Board. Additional duties include processing automobile excise adjustments; responding to public inquiries on a variety of Town issues; and scheduling meetings and filing.

Requires a High School diploma, Associate degree preferred, one to three years of office experience and proficiency with computers, specifically word processing, spreadsheets and database management. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both in person and over the phone), an aptitude for working with numbers, the ability to work with frequent interruptions and the ability to handle confidential information are a must.
