Position Summary
HIGHLIGHTS
SUNY Geneseo is looking for a new team member to join the Office of Financial Aid. This position would support the office by providing great customer service to our students, families, internal staff and campus partners by greeting and directing visitors, answering phones, office emails, scheduling appointments, assisting with the scanning and indexing of paperwork, and answering basic financial aid questions.
This appointment will be provisional,you do not need to be on the OA 2 list to be appointed. You do need to be eligible to sit for the Office Assistant 2 exam when it is held. You will be expected to qualify for the competitive exam, scoring high enough to be reachable to achieve permanent appointment. If not, you will be removed from the position

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 2, SG-09 (Calculations), classified position; be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service canvass list for SUNY Geneseo’s area location for an Office Assistant 2, SG-09 ( Calculations) position; or be transfer eligible.
NYS Preferred Lists candidates have preference.
For Provisional Appointment Eligibility: one year as an Office Assistant 1; or one year of permanent service in a clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 6 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
