This position is responsible for the overall management of administrative functions in the firm's Milwaukee office.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Responsible for day-to-day office management of the firm's Milwaukee office under the immediate direction of the firm's chief operating officer and the Milwaukee office managing partner, in coordination with the firmwide officers, other office administrators and other firm leaders.
  • Oversee management of Milwaukee office facilities, including assignment of workspace locations, oversight of repairs and maintenance and supervision of leasehold improvements.Facilities management done in conjunction with business professionals, such as the purchasing manager and the Firm's outside design consultant.
  • Effectively manage assigned business professionals, including outsourced functions. Ensure appropriate administrative support levels are maintained in the Milwaukee office and that work is allocated appropriately. Oversee and approve timesheets and time-off requests.
  • Manage employee performance and adherence to firm policies and procedures.Provide feedback for employee development and collaborate with Human Resources when there are employee relations concerns.Make compensation recommendations for office personnel.
  • Plan and organize office teambuilding events. Assist the office managing partner in the planning of monthly partner meetings.
  • Lead the continued improvement, maintenance and testing of a business continuation plan for the Milwaukee office, and execution of said plan in the event of a crisis.
  • Prepare and maintain Milwaukee office capital and operating budgets and identify opportunities for improved efficiency, while maintaining a high level of client service.
  • Oversee the management of tickets to sports and other entertainment events, including Brewers, Bucks, Packers and MU Golden Eagles teams.
  • Assist with business development activities and community events.Ensure that the Milwaukee office takes a visible and active role in corporate social responsibility initiatives including Quarles Cares, pro bono, sustainability, wellness, learning & development, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with firm leaders in the development and implementation of firm goals, both individually and on behalf of the office.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 5 years progressively responsible, related experience, including supervisory experience
  • Experience in law firm environment or other professional services environment preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated ability to create a team approach including the necessary leadership qualities to supervise and motivate professionals
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize, work well both independently and as a team member, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, communication and customer service skills required
  • Ability to build effective and lasting working relationships
  • Maintain confidentiality; be honest and act according to ethical principles
  • Analytical, strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong aptitude for technical skills
