Come be a part of the Allen Parish Community Healthcare team where a better you begins with us! We are looking for a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our work family as Unit Nurse Manager.

The unit manager has a 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the operations and functions of the Acute and Emergency Department. The Unit Manager supervises staff in both the Emergency Department and the Acute Inpatient floor. They are responsible for consults with staff physicians and the CNO about nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient care needs are met.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees RNs, LPNs and nursing aides, medical clerks and support staff
• Responsible for scheduling, assignments, and performance evaluations
• Establishes employee policies and procedures
• Mentors nursing staff as needed
• Sets unit goals and standards and chairs staff meetings
• Establishes nursing care standards based on best practices and latest research
• Ensures that patient care meets these standards
• Analyzes patient records to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of care
• Consults with physicians as necessary
• Handles complaints from patients or families
• Manages the unit's budget
• Ensures that medical supplies, medications and equipment are well-stocked
• May hire and train employees
• Consults with senior management on recommendations, questions, or concerns
• Maintaining Licensing and Educational Requirements on the unit

Skills:
Proficient experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, & Outlook.

Management experience in a clinical setting preferred

Critical Thinking

Department scheduling

Managing & maintaining budget & FTEs

CPSI/Evident knowledge a plus.

Job Requirements:

At least two years experience in a clinical setting

Requires active RN license through Louisiana State Board of Nursing.

Nursing management experience preferred

Certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI/MOAB.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42.00 per hour
