Summary: Looking for a nurse aide to provide quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse.

• Maintains good working relationship both within the department and with other departments
• Meets communication needs of the patient
• Demonstrates performance reflecting initiative and responsibility expected of a Nursing
• Assistant
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and functional under stressful conditions
• Interacts professionally with patients, family members, physicians, and co-workers
• Treats patients, family members and visitors to NSMC with respect and dignity
• Assists in admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients
• Takes and records vital signs – reports abnormal vital signs to a nurse – documents in the EHR as needed
• Measures and records height and weights of patients in the EHR upon admission and as needed
• Records fluid intake, food intake, and output as needed
• Care for patients environment by keeping room neat and free of “clutter”
• Make rounds on patients as frequently as needed
• Recognize abnormal changes in body functioning and patient status – reporting any changes to a nurse
• Assist with dressing patients for activities, physical therapy and discharge
• Assists patients with toiletry – keeping patients clean and dry – changing linens/pads as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• A High school education or its equivalent is required
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant is preferred, but not required: on- the- job training is provided in patient care
• Prior experience as a Nursing Assistant is preferred for this position
