Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP)/ Physician Assistant (PA) functions under the clinical supervision of licensed physicians, provides diagnostic and therapeutic health care to patients in Skilled Nursing environments. Obtain, evaluates, and interprets lab results, performs physical exams and therapeutic procedures. Provides wound care and internal medicine services to patients.
- Provide general medical care to various and/or specific patient levels- adults/geriatric
- Perform comprehensive evaluations including history and physical exams.
- Address both acute and chronic primary care complaints, and able to ascertain medical urgency.
- Establish and document reasonable medical diagnoses.
- Order pertinent diagnostic laboratory and radiology testing for the medical diagnosis or presenting symptom.
- Performs wound debridements, dressing changes, and other necessary duties.
- Accept feedback and direction from the supervising physician.
- Create and implements a medical plan of care.
- Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures within his/her level of training and expertise.
- Prescribe medications as appropriate.
- Perform timely documentation and billing.
Requirements:
- Valid Wisconsin APRN License
- Valid Wisconsin DEA
- Wound Care Experience
- Minimum 1 year Internal Medicine APP experience
