Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner oversees the process of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with psychiatric disorders or potential for such disorders using his/her full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and administration of psychotherapy. He/she will work efficiently to attain and maintain the highest level of care in accordance with regulatory standards. He/she also performs History & Physical Exams and Psychiatric Evaluations as delegated by the Medical Director as well as performs a vital function in aiding clients on their road to recovery:

  • Availability to answer telephone calls from Facility employees, making reasonable efforts to respond to all such calls within thirty (30) minutes of the initial call.
  • Authorizing patient admission and directing patient care, including the use of prescription medications
  • Performing thorough psychiatric evaluations
  • Performing a thorough medical history and physical examination
  • Assessing face to face all patients at a Detoxification level of care on a daily basis
  • Assessing face to face all patients at all levels of care other than Detoxification on a weekly basis
  • Attending all Treatment Team meetings and/or other appointments requested by the Facility
  • Directing aftercare and discharge planning, including authorizing patient discharge.
  • Maintaining appropriate state licensure.
  • No pending or past sanctions, debarments, suspensions, or exclusions by any federally funded healthcare program, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Shall act in accordance with the policies, procedures, and standards of the Facility including all relevant regulations of Joint Commission and State Regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must hold active Nurse Practitioner license
  • Must hold at least an associate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution of higher learning. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Must have DEA and buprenorphine waivers or be willing to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in nursing in a mental health setting preferred
  • Prior experience in the chemical dependency field preferred
  • Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred
  • Must be committed to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use

Full-Time: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm - $120,000 + benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(k), unlimited PTO, and $5k toward student loan reimbursements)

PRN: As Needed Basis - $350/day base + productivity pay
