    If hired, The State Board for Educator Certification will require all first time applicants for an initial credential to be fingerprinted as part of a national criminal background check. A cost of up to $49.00 will be charged for fingerprinting.
    PRIMARY PURPOSE
    To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play and develop.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
    • Works night shift to maintain a cleaning schedule at the designated area that will include classroom floors, furniture, bathrooms, windows, facilities, and equipment.
    • Monitors paper and soap dispensers for refills as needed.
    • Take out trash from all classrooms, bathrooms and offices.
    • Sanitize bathrooms in the designated area.
    • Vacuum classroom, office, hallways and Multi-Purpose Room carpets.
    • Assist in maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment.
    • Report promptly to the Administrative Assistant, Custodial Area Supervisor, Assistant Director of Custodial Services any acts of vandalism, defects, or accidental destruction that may prove injurious to students and staff.
    • Ensure the building is secured during evening hours and energy management policies are followed.
    • Monitor heating, cooling, and ventilation systems; reports any malfunctions to the Administrative Assistant or Custodial Area Supervisor, or Plant Services.
    • Coordinate moving furniture and equipment as required.
    • May be required the use of a lift to clean and dust high surfaces in MPR’s and gyms.
    • Must be able to work at a different campus, if needed.
    • Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
    Education/Certification/Experience:
    • General experience in custodial or cleaning work.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures.
    • Skill in the use of custodial materials, chemicals, and equipment.
    • Ability to read, understand and follow written and verbal instructions and operate custodial equipment; read, speak, and write English is strongly preferred.

    • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
    • Must move about inside the building to perform custodial work.
    • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to clean at higher levels.
    • Constantly positions self to be able to reach items on floor or above head.
    • Constantly standing and walking for long periods of work day.
    • Frequently moves equipment, supplies, furniture or trash weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • May be exposed to strong smells from cleaning solutions.
    • May be exposed to intermittent sounds of a loud nature.
    • Operate medium weight cleaning equipment such as vacuum, floor buffer, and carpet extractor.
    • Maintain composure and professionalism at all times.

    PRINCIPALES DEBERES Y RESPONSABILIDADES
    • Trabajar en el turno diurno para mantener un horario de limpieza en el área designada que puede incluir los pisos, pizarras, instalaciones, ventanas, muebles y equipos.
    • Informar de manera oportuna al Director de la escuela, Supervisor de área o al Director de Servicios de Custodia cualquier acto de vandalismo, defectos o daño accidental que pueda exponer los estudiantes o el personal a un peligro.
    • Vigilar que el edificio/escuela esté protegido en horas de la noche y que las normas de ahorro de energía se estén cumpliendo.
    • Supervisar los sistemas de calefacción, aire acondicionado y ventilación y reportar cualquier falla en el funcionamiento al Director de la escuela o a los servicios de Planta.
    • Coordinar el movimiento de muebles y equipos cuando sea necesario.
    • Se podría necesitar el uso de un andamio para limpiar superficies altas en los gimnasios y salas múltiples
    • Demostrar una asistencia al trabajo puntual
    • Otros deberes según le sean asignados.

    CRITERIOS GENERALES DE CALIFICACIÓN
    Educación/Certificación/Experiencia:
    • Experiencia general en servicios de custodia o limpieza.

    Conocimientos/Destrezas/Habilidades:
    • Conocimientos de técnicas y procedimientos de limpieza.
    • Destrezas en el uso de materiales de custodia y químicos.
    • Habilidad para leer, comprender y seguir instrucciones verbales y escritas, así como para operar los equipos de custodia; habilidad para leer, hablar y escribir el idioma inglés es altamente preferido para el desempeño de las funciones.
    Demandas físicas/Mentales/Entorno:
    • Habilidad de comprender, recordar y aplicar las instrucciones orales y/o escritas o cualquier otro tipo de información
    • Debe desplazarse dentro y fuera del edificio para el desarrollo del trabajo de custodia
    • Subir y bajar escaleras para limpiar superficies altas de forma ocasional
    • Movimientos constantes y cambios de posición corporal para alcanzar objetos fuera del alcance
    • Puede estar de pie y caminar por largos periodos durante su día de trabajo
    • Mover equipos con frecuencia, elementos, muebles y desechos con pesos máximos de hasta 50 libras
    • Puede estar expuesto a fuertes olores provenientes de los líquidos de limpieza
    • Puede estar expuesto a sonidos intermitentes de volumen alto
    • Operar equipos de limpieza de mediano peso tales como aspiradora, pulidora de pisos y extractor de alfombras.
