Job description

The New Product Introduction Engineer (NPIE) is responsible for comprehensive test and qualification of new SolarEdge products for use in the North America Region. The NPIE works closely with both the North America technical staff, as well as our headquarters design and product management team to ensure that equipment meets local requirements, meets design goals, is easily installed, is well documented and performs as needed. The NPIE works with a diversity of teams, including technical marketing, codes and compliance, field support engineering, failure analysis staff and technical account management to ensure that stakeholders technical needs are met by the equipment.
The NPIE is expected to spend substantial time in a lab environment validating product functionality, in cooperation with the SolarEdge Integration Engineering team.

Duties and Responsibilities: *

• Understand and follow test specifications for new SolarEdge products
• Author proposed test plans as needed
• Test SolarEdge and competitive products in a variety of environments (lab, field)
• Understand and critique documentation for new products
• Author SolarEdge applications material specific to North American regional requirements
• Keep customer support staff up to date on new products
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to build rapport and establish/keep working relationships with customers, peers and managers.

Required Skills and Qualifications*:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in a solar related field preferred
• Experience testing/qualifying electrical products
• Experience writing technical documentation
• Understanding of power electronics preferred
• Familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC)
• Travel required < 20%
