Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Keep servers current with the latest software versions, service packs, and application patches available

· Maintain a high level of integrity and security on all servers (as well as the data contained on those servers)

· Manage and maintain network, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, VPN

· Maintain a regular backup routine of all server-based data

· Restore data from backup for users upon request

· Manage O365 tenant and licensing

· Manage email security software to protect against phishing and spam

· Monitor computer systems to improve network performance for computer systems and networks

· Fix software and hardware configuration issues for users on-demand or from inspection of the systems

· Part of the Information Security team that helps manage and maintain our ISO 27001 certification

· Evaluate and improve upon the way MTI uses technology to do business, as well as the reliability of that technology

· Research, recommend, procure, and implement all IT related upgrades. Remove or upgrade all obsolete hardware and software

· Keep personal computers current with the latest software versions, service packs, and application patches available, for which we support

· Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users

· Manage department and KPM’s and/or goals to meet or exceed company expectations

· Help lead the IT team to support MTI’s business strategy, provide operational oversight and budgetary control of technology spending

· Support the Executive Team by providing accurate information regarding the company’s current IT assets and by making
recommendations regarding the company’s IT needs

· Manage outside contracts for IT related vendors and consultants

· Look for ways to reduce costs without sacrificing the quality of service that the IT department provides

· Improve and document the processes by which all IT duties are accomplished

· Escalate and manage problems with vendors as needed

· Maintain a list of company owned software licenses and enforce the integrity of those software licenses

· Maintain minimum requirements (per department) for all IT related hardware and software

· Support fellow employees by providing them with computer training/coaching and with reliable tools with which to do their jobs effectively

· Proficient in Network Engineering

· Hardware / software troubleshooting

· Basic Macintosh administration

· Backup administration

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education

· Minimum five years related experience in Information Technology

· Minimum three years’ experience in telephony administration

· 3+ years’ experience in supervision of staff and/or managing processes
