We are looking for a Network Administrator to maintain a reliable, secure and efficient data communications network. The ideal candidate will be able to deploy, configure, maintain and monitor all active network equipment in order to ensure smooth network operation.

ABC Warehouse with corporate offices based in Pontiac, MI, is a multi-channel retailer focusing on appliances, electronics, mattresses, and furniture. Family-owned and operated since 1963, with forty-two brick-and-mortar locations operating in multiple states. Mickey Shorr Mobile Electronics is also part of the ABC Warehouse Group, operating in fifteen Michigan locations

Responsibilities

• Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer’s networks and in- house servers
• Manage 60 locations networks including 2 remote data centers
• Maintain active directory and security functions, including antivirus updates, software patch updates
• Manage and setup internal DNS servers
• Install and integrate new server hardware and applications
• Monitor proposed and needed updates and evaluate alternate solutions
• Support and administer third-party applications
• Ensure network security and connectivity
• Performing diagnostic tests and repairs, as well as developing data archiving, backup, and retrieval procedures.
• Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weaknesses
• Set up Windows, Linux user accounts, permissions and passwords
• Resolve problems reported by end user
• Define network policies and procedures
• Specify system requirements and design solutions
• Willingness to travel to client locations.
• Documenting network processes and layouts, as well as enhancing network security.
• Research and make recommendations on server system administration

Requirements and skills

• Must have proven experience in a network administrator role
• Hands-on experience in networking, routing and switching
• Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of server infrastructure
• Experience with Firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution is desired
• Ability to set up and configure server hardware including Hyper-V or VMware
• Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
• Fortinet, Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training
• Experience with VOIP and PBX and support 3CX phone system
• Experience diagnosing TCP port packets and troubleshooting VOIP
• Experience setting up Linux Servers and Linux Desktop

Education / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar
• Minimum two years of experience as a network support technician
• Availability to perform urgent network repairs outside of business hours.
• Proficient level of English
