Background & Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of the Naturals Distribution Manager position is responsibility of UNFI and Kehe Natural and Spec divisions. Developing and coordinating the optimal distribution network of our specialty and natural brands. This role will work in concert with direct, regional and broker teams to develop sustained business relationships to maximize growth and profitable sales nationally. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the Savoury (Knorr) business for the Natural Team.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
DISTRIBUTOR MANAGER
  • Manage corporate relations with UNFI and Kehe leadership, while developing joint business planning to achieve mutual beneficial goals.
  • Partner with Customer Supply Chain team to improve collaboration, communication and partnership both internally and with external customers
  • Manage and coordinate Unilever and broker resources to maximize performance to include trade marketing, category management, consumer insight and supply chain.
  • Manage and facilitate brand acquisition transitions.
  • Be the team expert on UNFI and KEHE programs – offering guidance to RSMs on best programs to achieve goals.
  • Regularly report out key success metrics to team – including sales, inventory levels, service levels
  • Develop in conjunction with brokers the overall promotional plan across all brands for both distributors as well as downstream independent customers.
  • Act as a conduit between the Regional Managers and Distributors for new innovation acceptance, upcoming key events, item transitions, inventory or allocation issues, and promotional plans
  • Manage process to provide tracking of performance metrics for key customer teams(BDMs, RSMs, CBMs, Brokers).
SAVOURY/KNORR SALES MANAGER
  • Set category priorities and goals for year and direct broker team to develop initiatives to achieve them.
  • Responsible for hitting Turn Over targets, managing trade spend and achieving positive category share growth.
  • Partner with broker and direct team to set promotional and pricing strategies for each retailer or retailer group.
  • Sell-in new innovation and close distribution gaps on key core items.
  • Identify white space revenue opportunities in collaboration with broker and direct teams.
  • Manage demand signal and spend in Evergreen.
CHALLENGES:
  • Routinely interface and work effectively with multiple internal departments/personnel, plus senior level and customer personnel, which may create complexity and time management challenges
  • Must be able to respond to a dynamic business environment that is constantly changing and determine key actions to resolve challenges.
  • Develop Strategic Relationships to accelerate growth, while operating within approved Trade Marketing parameters, and driving trade investment effectiveness and efficiency
What You’ll Need To Succeed
  • Undergraduate degree required with 4+ years of relevant experience in trade marketing, category management, customer marketing or customer development
  • Experience managing through 3rd parties
  • Ability to develop and communicate clear and simple processes to improve team effectiveness
  • Consumer/Shopper Understanding

  • Strong financial acumen

Pay: The pay range for this position is $96,000 to $143,900. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
