San Diego Family Assistant Role

● Ages of children: 7, 5, and 2 years old
● Start date/Contract dates: As soon as they find the right fit!
● Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 40+ hours per week with the general schedule falling on

Monday through Friday from 12pm to 8pm or similar. Flexibility to adjust the weekly schedule to accommodate evenings, weekends, and travel will be asked and appreciated with advanced notice!

● Compensation: The family is offering $30+/hour, with overtime. Additional overnight pay if/ when required.

● Benefits: The family is open to providing benefits including health insurance, paid time off, paid holidays.

Household dynamic:

● The older kids are in school daily with additional activities after school/ weekends. The younger child will start preschool in August on a part time basis.

● This is a very hands-on family and they are seeking extra support. Dad works remotely from home with frequent travel, and mom is a stay-at-home parent who will tag-team with the nanny to ensure the household runs smoothly.

● The family is looking for a career nanny who is looking to commit to our family long term.

Ideal candidate:
● The ideal candidate is playful and loving, thoughtful in how they communicate with children, firm but fair (very confident in providing structure and routine), understands and respects professional boundaries, and is exceedingly honest, responsible and trustworthy. A candidate who has experience collaborating with parents, brings an all-hands-on-deck attitude, is flexible to support the family as last-minute trips come up, is excited to support and join the kids in their daily activities, and demonstrates a commitment to their career as a nanny/family assistant will thrive in this environment for years to come!

● Nanny responsibilities include collaborating with parents, child-related housekeeping and laundry, vacation packing/ unpacking, homework assistance, managing back packs after school and preparing for the next day, managing to do list for school, getting the sports gear ready for their various classes, lunch and snack preparation, and assisting with dinner prep. The candidate should be excited to play outdoors and plan activities with the children, as well as travel with the family as needed. Someone who is happy to pitch in where needed, and has a see a need, fill a need mentality will be valued.

● Family assistant responsibilities include help preparing for guests, grocery shopping, package drop off/ dry cleaning/ errands, party assistance, holiday prep, keeping the pantry/ fridge/ supplies up to date and stocked, vendor meetings.

● While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate who has a bachelor’s degree or other educational background! The family is eager to welcome a candidate who above all can foster a caring, nurturing environment for their children and keep their household operating smoothly.

Qualifications:

● 5+ years of professional childcare experience, previous Family Assistant experience a bonus
● Valid driver’s license
● Valid passport or willingness to obtain a passport upon hire
● Driving is required in this role and a vehicle will be provided while on duty. Please have a squeaky clean driving record and background check
