About the Job:
**
The Real Deal is looking for a Multimedia Editor to join a rapidly growing media company focused on real estate journalism and headquartered in New York City.

In this position, the Multimedia Editor manages all video, podcast, and other multimedia content that runs across all channels. The multimedia editor will work closely with TRD’s reporters and producers to create video, podcast and social content for all of TRD’s platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

Design a slate of newsy, exciting multimedia content for TRD’s engaged audience of real estate professionals

• Assign, research, write, produce, and edit videos for The Real Deal’s website, YouTube, and social media channels, alongside TRD’s reporters and producers
• Ideate and develop new podcast series for The Real Deal, and work alongside the reporters running our existing podcast, Deconstruct
• Maintain a consistent posting calendar of multimedia products, being consistent yet flexible enough to accommodate changing news cycles
• Stay ahead of the trends, bringing new ideas for multimedia content into TRD’s newsroom
• Work closely with the social media team to oversee multimedia distribution on social
• Liaise with TRD’s marketing team to promote editorial content
• Work with TRD’s sales and ad ops team to improve multimedia monetization

Job Requirements

Background in multimedia & video journalism

• Ability to juggle short turn-around video stories with longer multimedia projects
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work closely with journalists and editors
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Audition, or similar
• Ability to work both solo, owning pre-production, shooting, editing, and alongside a small team of producers, directing content, editing scripts, and giving feedback throughout post
• Understanding of SEO and similar content production best practices
• Social media savvy, including knowledge of current social media trends
• Knowledge of the real estate industry is a plus

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $80-110k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
