What You’ll Do
The Monitor Technician is an integral part of the Hillcrest Hospital South team. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring accurate recognition, interpretation and monitoring of cardiac rhythms under direct supervision of the RN or LPN, while providing extraordinary customer service and patient care.
The Monitor Technician is an integral part of the Hillcrest Hospital South team. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring accurate recognition, interpretation and monitoring of cardiac rhythms under direct supervision of the RN or LPN, while providing extraordinary customer service and patient care.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Accurately monitors heart rhythm patterns of patients on telemetry and/or cardiac monitoring equipment
- Thoroughly clean, inspect and issue Telemetry boxes as appropriate
- Delivery quality assistance and excellent customer service by consistently maintaining a positive and professional attitude when interacting with patients, visitors and staff
- Participate within a team centered approach to provide excellent patient care and improve patient satisfaction and HCAHPS scores.
- Demonstrate competency in identifying dysrhythmias and alarms by promptly notifying appropriate staff members
- Communicate census, unstable patients and lost telemetry boxes to the ICU Charge Nurse as applicable
- Accurately document monitor rhythms and maintain organized patient records by accurately completing and submitting all required documentation according to departmental policy and procedures
- Participate in the development of new programs, while actively contributing to the growth and performance of the overall department by completing annual competency and safety training as required
- Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidentiality and privacy practices in accordance with HIPPA.
What You’ll Bring
- Must be Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year direct experience is preferred, but not required
- Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards under the supervision of an RN or LPN
- Willing and able to be emotionally mature and function effectively under high stress
- Ability to demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills on a daily basis
- Must possess the Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to demonstrate intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and be willing and able to learn company specific programs
- Must possess strong organizational, problem-solving, multi-tasking, and ability pay attention to details
- Be willing and able to maintain professional standards of practice and adhere to Hillcrest’s Code of Conduct policies at all times
