Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our MONITORING SPECIALIST position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. Daikin North America is seeking a monitoring specialist to focus on supporting the remote monitoring solutions business by providing setup, training, analysis, sales, and customer support. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Responsibilities:

May include:


Setup-

    • Understand Daikin Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) applications like Simple Edge, GPF Edge, Surveyor ,and
    • Daikin One through internal resources and self-study
    • Assist with remote commissioning, network configuration for jobsites. Advise on the set up of control systems
      and the commissioning of product including refrigerant charging, addressing, operational data and field
      settings
    • Configure and operate RMS dashboards. Monitor dashboard for exceptions and take appropriate action to
      resolve the exception/malfunctions
    • Maintain working relationship with customer stakeholders including, but not limited to- site owner,
      maintenance/service team etc., to resolve operational exceptions/malfunctions.

Training-

    • Perform RMS training for internal employees, external sales partners ,and a backup resource
    • Work with design instructor to create technical literature to promote RMS business. Participate in sales
      promotion activities as a technical expert
    • In conjunction with the Field Support Manager, provide information and conduct training sessions pertaining to
      proper installations, commissioning, controls commissioning ,and troubleshooting of Daikin equipment
    • Work with internal teams to learn of changes to equipment and assess their impact on the business. At the
      same time provide voice-of -customer inputs to improve functionality.
    • Perform other related job duties as assigned

Troubleshooting and Analysis-

    • Assist with diagnosis support when an abnormality occurs (follow-up with customers whose equipment has
      stopped due to an error for more than 24 hours) [contact the contracted REP/contractor]
    • Analysis of specific customers with continuous abnormalities with the same fault. (If QC/ Engineering needs
      feedback information, product specialist will handle it)
    • Check the operating status of the equipment from cloud data and create proposals for energy conservation
      and operational improvements for properties that are not operating efficiently.
    • In a timely manner advise to clean indoor and outdoor heat exchangers based on the operating status of
      equipment and creating proposals for equipment renewal timing based on the number of years the equipment
      has been installed and the operating status (deterioration status) before failure.


Sales support-

    • Provide prompt and courteous responses to calls coming to Daikin North America’s RMS Control Center (RMC)
    • Develop processes for resolving exception notifications through cross collaboration with internal or external
      service providers
    • Occasionally visit critical job sites and provide technical assistance
    • Maintain periodic contact with customers to ensure their satisfaction
    • Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Ability to apply knowledge of refrigeration and air conditioning theory and structural layout
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client group
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems and solutions
  • Demonstrated technical skills to explain product functionality to customers
  • Ability to present technical seminars for customers in conjunction with sales engineers
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to produce clear, timely and concise documentation and have well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethic, and integrity on the job

Experience:
  • 5+ years of HVAC industry experience preferred

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associates Degree or (HVAC Certificate) suggested

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Required regularly to sit, talk, and listen
  • Required to stand, walk, use hands to pick up, handle or feel and reach with arms
  • Ability to read and analyze written information on a computer terminal. Close vision and the ability to adjust
    focus are necessary
  • Must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal work hours as necessary
  • Must be able to lift boxes and/or equipment of up to 50 pounds
  • Travel to jobsites <20%.
