Native Movement seeks a highly motivated individual to create graphic designs and other creative materials for MMIWG2S Alaska Working Group. We are seeking an individual with a high level of creativity and graphic design experience to assist in the creation of outreach and educational materials, as well as communications and campaign materials. Experience in collaborative work models is a must. This position has the potential for growth within the organization and would be part of a supportive, passionate, and dynamic team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Gender Justice and Healing and Communications programs at NM as well as our partners within the MMIWG2S working group.

  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.

  • Design and organize outfacing campaign materials including fliers, social media messaging, event materials, and media tools.

  • Working collaboratively with Native Movement partner organizations and affiliates to support their needs as they arise.

  • Additional responsibilities to be added upon development of individualized work plan based on interests and goals.

Non-exempt, full-time $23-$26.50/hr.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web.

  • Knowledge of accessibility across digital and print media.

  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.

  • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, Procreate, Canva and other graphic design software.

  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects.

  • Excellent eye for detail and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work extremely well as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with the MMIWG2S crisis and willingness and ability to work on the issue.

  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to meet goals and deadlines while working independently.

Location:
This position is preferred to be located in Anchorage, Alaska. However, the ability to work-from-home within the area may be acceptable. Work-from-home locations must have the ability to access the internet and have adequate phone reception. Office space is available at our Anchorage and Fairbanks locations.

Additionally, Native Movement’s standard work week is four days – Monday thru Thursday – Fridays are paid “wellness” days.
