We are seeking to hire for both full time and part time positions. The current need is for overnights and weekend day shifts. The Eden Hill overnight shift does allow for sleeping in private quarters on site once the clients are settled for the night.

Eden Hill Recovery Retreat was established in 2011 and has been part of the High Watch Family since 2019. Nestled in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains in Canaan, CT Eden Hill is a not-for-profit, 12-bed transitional living facility for women recovering from substance use disorders.

The Eden Hill Milieu is responsible for providing direct supervision and support to guests. The milieu also maintains a safe and efficient working and treatment environment per company policies, procedures and best practices; communicates effectively with the treatment team to ensure safe, quality care is provided to all guests.

Job Duties

• Provides direct supervision of clients in an appropriate, supportive, and recovery centered manner within the realm of experience and training.
• Monitor guest duties and responsibilities and provide developmental feedback to guests regarding their performance.
• Investigate and attempt to resolve problems that arise in the community.
• Observes, identifies and reports unusual behavior of clients to treatment team.
• Monitors and enforces company policies and rules.
• Conducts routine drug testing through UA/BA testing as directed and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Transport clients in company vehicle, as directed, to medical and necessary appointments.
• Consult with the appropriate resources to ensure the provision of effective treatment services.
• Adhere to applicable laws, regulations and agency polices governing the disclosure of client identifying data.

Minimum Qualification

• A high school diploma or equivalent degree required.
• Valid driver's license.
• Professional knowledge of substance use disorders and twelve step programs
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation and resolving conflicts.
• Ability to maintain and demonstrate ethical professional standards and demeanor, including the confidentiality of employee and client data, client boundaries, and other sensitive information.
• Demonstrated competence with, and continued commitment to respect for cultural differences and diversity, protecting client rights.
• Recognition of the limits of one’s own professional expertise and the willingness to seek supervision and/or support, as needed.
• Recognize, prevent and respond to a situation in which the client may be a danger to himself/herself or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, is experiencing a crisis situation or medical emergency.
• Recognize and respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency: and has completed all of the requirements above and is documented in application in training including the ability to pass background checks required by High Watch.

Physical Demands

Must be able to walk, bend, stand, climb stairs, speak English, hear, use a telephone, drive an automobile, and operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copier, and fax machine. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
