Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School is looking for a creative, hands-on oriented science teacher to teach middle level STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) courses. We are excited continue creating a robust STEM program at the core of our learner experience, and the ideal candidates will have the skills, knowledge, and excitement to jump onboard and join in this cutting-edge endeavor. This position primarily teaches middle level robotics and design & modeling courses.Specifically, candidates will: Ensure a safe, secure, learner-centered classroom environment that is conducive to learning at all times.Actively work to build a positive relationship and rapport with each learner.Utilize the District Learning Progressions to plan lessons, create assessments, and deliver direct instruction that meets New Hampshire Technology requirements for Middle/High School learners.Work to personalize learning to the interests and needs of each individual learner.Collaborate with Career/Extended Learning Opportunity Coordinator and local industry to ensure STEM courses continue to prepare learners with the mindsets, skills, and knowledge for success in a variety of potential STEM career pathways.Collaborate with other STEM teachers to design and implement quality programming in support of pathways in Robotics, Computer Science, and Sustainability STEM.Integrate instruction in critical thinking and embed such skill development into STEM learning goals.Support learners in acquiring the necessary skills to apply their learning in pursuit of a personalized STEM capstone.Collaborate with Science, Mathematics, and Art teachers to design intellectually rigorous and integrated courses that meet learning goals in those content areas.Utilize data from diagnostic tools, standardized assessments, and classroom assessments to tailor instruction.Implement learner Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)/504 plans.Implement a mentoring advisory program with learners that utilizes approved curriculum, focuses on social/emotional well being, and establishment of positive community norms for advisory learners.Participate in professional development and learning opportunities to enhance pedagogy, content knowledge, and other related skills.Participate in parent/teacher conferences, open-house, transition events, and other community events.Maintain timely and accurate records for learner performance and provide other proactive communication with learners and parents.Monitor learner achievement and behavior and make appropriate referrals as needed.Participate in team meetings, Professional Learning Communities, and school wide meetings in support of learners and their families.Participate and provide input for IEP/504 meetings as needed.Respond to emergencies to resolve immediate safety matters and appropriately implement the school's Emergency Response Plan.Provide supervision of learners at all times while reinforcing positive norms and redirecting inappropriate behaviors using appropriate interventions and support.Assist with the appropriate procurement of supplies and equipment for STEM instruction.Supervise the safe use of equipment, ensure the use of personal protective equipment and appropriate safety gear, and assist administration with ensuring the timely maintenance and upkeep of all STEM equipment.Prepare substitute plans in a proactive manner.Read, understand, and consistently and fairly enforce school and District policies.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of school.
