The Boeing Company is seeking a Mid-Level Trade Control Specialist to join our Global Trade Controls team. The Global Trade Controls team within Boeing supports the enterprise in delivering a secure and compliant supply chain. This role requires analytical, communication, and time management skills in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. You will be a key member of an expert team that crafts, implements, and performs trade compliance controls. This position can be located in Seattle, WA; Hazelwood, MO; Mesa, AZ; North Charleston, SC; Ridley Park, PA; or Seal Beach, CA.

This role will primarily support our U.S. Customs compliance team. You will be using your trade compliance experience in reviewing import entries for accuracy of classification, valuation, country of origin, and free trade agreements. You will be using your analytic skills to shape trade data to identify compliance risks and develop appropriate controls. Using communication skills, you will work through sophisticated challenges within a large global company. Our team also supports a just-in-time business with operation centers in multiple time zones


Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with customs brokers, management and senior leadership, as needed

  • Support the importing process by review of import entries for accuracy of classification, valuation, documentation, country of origin, free trade agreements and Partner Government Agencies requirements

  • Collaborate with other import and export Trade Control Specialists on a variety of teams and initiatives

  • Conducts global regulatory and statutory trade control requirements, interpretation and impact analysis

  • Classify aerospace parts and components under the US HTS (Harmonized Tariff System)

  • Perform valuations using Customs valuation principles

  • Research, interpret, and perform impact analysis on regulatory and legislative trade controls

  • Identify, document, develop, and implement solutions to trade compliance risks

  • Develop and deploy enterprise processes and procedures

  • Interface and partner with key stakeholders in support of trade controls

  • Perform data analytics using a variety of tools including ACE, Tableau, Cognos, Excel, SQL, and Oracle

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with global trade controls

  • Experience working with 19 C.F.R. – U.S. Customs Regulations

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Licensed Customs Broker

  • Experience with the ACE Portal and ACE reporting

  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Tableau, and other Data Analytics tools

  • 3+ years of experience interacting with functional stakeholders internal to the organization on routine global trade control matters

  • 3+ years of experience working in a regulated environment

  • 3+ years of experience in handling a variety of complex problems

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $78,200-$112,700
