Position Description

Title: Therapist I

Supervisor: Clinical Supervisor

General Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, counseling or a related human services field from an accredited college or university is required. LPC-Associate pursuing LPC or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) pursuing LCSW. Minimum of one (1) year supervised clinical experience (can include practicum/internship) required. Strong
preference for prior experience with children, youth and families.

General Description: Provide individual, group and system-level clinical services that are trauma-informed and/ or trauma-specific. The therapist will conduct biopsychosocial assessments, generate treatment plan, provide individual, family, and/or group therapy. Therapist will also leverage clinical skills to provide mental health group psychoeducation, mental health training and/or consultation, and related mental health outreach, engagement and education services via special projects of the Center. Education, training, and/or lived experience in providing trauma-informed mental health and education services via individual and groups is highly preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required, with the capacity to communicate with a variety of stakeholders.

Classification: Full-time, exempt, 40 hours per week

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical duties with supervision from an approved supervisor.
  • Provide individual, group and family therapy to clients. This includes assessment, testing, service plans, carrying out services and evaluating results of service outcomes.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks related to managing a caseload, including reporting to referral sources and monitoring client compliance with clinic attendance policy.
  • Maintain clinical and administrative electronic records according to policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Participate in continuing education to develop and refine clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Provide court testimony as needed.
  • Maintain complete and accurate clinical records according to policies, procedures, and contract requirements.
  • Provide other duties as assigned, not limited to participation on COA and PQI duties.
  • Provide mental health services (education, consultation, and group work) through diverse projects to special populations served by the Center and the groups and systems that surround and support them.
  • Provide mental health education in the form of psychoeducational workshops and specialized mental health training, inclusive of content research, development, design, implementation and outcome evaluation.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups, inclusive of complementary, mind-body based groups, parenting groups, support groups for special populations, and professional resiliency groups.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, weekly huddles, multi-disciplinary staffing’s, weekly supervision with assigned supervisor, and related professional development activities.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills necessary. This position requires public speaking, facilitation of group and collective impact processes, and ability to provide basic workshops and trainings.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of social justice and equity as it relates to positive organizational and systems change.
  • Exhibit sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic differences in the service population
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluency in all Microsoft Suite program, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Position requires an ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of colleagues and partners.

Salary Range: $47,000 -$52,000k to commensurate with experience
