Job description
The Ministry of Caring is a non-profit agency, located in Wilmington, Delaware that provides services to the poor and homeless in the area. For 45 years, we have strived to help individuals rise above homelessness and poverty to reach independence and self-sufficiency.
We are currently seeking a part-time (32 hours per week) mental health counselor to work with clients living in our emergency shelters and transitional residences.
The position entails providing individual counseling as well as facilitating some groups and workshops with the residents in our care. Individual appointments are scheduled during the day, while group sessions are usually held in the evenings.
Prior experience working in social services, particularly experience with the homeless population, is plus. A master's degree in mental health or pastoral counseling is required; a license to practice mental health counseling is ideal.
