This position is located at Greensville Correctional Center in Greensville, Virginia.

Multiple Positions will be filled from this posting.

Provides assessment, treatment, and management of adult sex offenders housed in the Department of Corrections in an effort to reduce future victims upon release to the community.

Provides evidence-based, state of the art sex offender programming to adult sex offenders, including treatment, assessment, and re-entry / release planning services.

Makes recommendations to the Sex Offender Residential Treatment (SORT) Program Director regarding program changes that are researched-based and have demonstrated effectiveness.

Ensures that documentation and records are maintained according to DOC and ACA standards.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters Degree with advanced course work in general psychology and assessment.

Working knowledge of psychological theory and practices on various mental disorders, sexual disorders, and contemporary assessment and treatment approaches.

Knowledge of salient areas related to effective sex offender treatment modalities, the ability to develop appropriate treatment plans, group and individual counseling skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of the purpose, strengths, and limitation of various psychological and sex offender specific assessment instruments.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and the ability to discuss and explain psychological/diagnostic impressions and issues.

Preferred Qualifications
Eligible to complete certification as a Sex Offender Treatment Provider by the Virginia Board of Psychology, which must be completed within one year of accepting the position.

Licensed as a LPC, LCSW, etc., preferred.

Experience working clinically with sexual offenders, performing sex offender assessment and interpretation, psychological testing, evaluation, and counseling.

Special Requirements
