The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) works with other team caregivers of inpatient unit staff to provide patient care in a variety of job duties, and under the direct supervision of the RN, or the Mental Health Professional Therapist / Social Worker, or the inpatient unit Manager or Director.

Required qualifications:

• 2 years In an acute or residential inpatient psychiatric facility in a similar role. Applicable internship or practicum experience may be applied towards required years of experience.
• Washington Certified Behavior Technician License Or
• Required upon hire: Washington Counselor Certified Certification Or
• Required upon hire: Washington Counselor Certified Adviser Certification Or
• Required upon hire: Washington Behavioral Analyst License
• Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Science fields (Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or other related field)
• Adult inpatient psych unit: Experience in an adult psychiatric environment.
