Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, with primary offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C. is looking for, is looking for a Membership & Operations Sr Associate to join our Business + Trade Industry Practice in our Chicago office. Representing the majority of our client organizations, the Business + Trade team helps associations create value for the members by delivering strategy and thought leadership, networking opportunities, commerce solutions, education and certification, and advocacy and promotion. The Membership and Operations Associate plays an integral role in supporting and guiding the nonprofit volunteers and members from our client organizations.

What You Will Do

  • Build and sustain strong member relations through attentive detail in handling member requests and volunteer interaction
  • Provide administrative and project support to the client and staff team, including database maintenance and reporting
  • Serve as staff liaison to client member committees
  • Coordinate and maintain financial projects, membership dues, registration, and AP/AR
  • Write and produce content for association member e-newsletters and other electronic communications
  • Maintain and update areas of the association website with current information, benefits, member programs, etc.
  • Assist with the preparation of conferences, board meetings, and seminars

  • You have the ability to travel 10% of the time.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution
  • 0-1 year of relevant professional experience, including customer service and/or administrative support experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Practical agency or nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Experience working for an international organization
  • Database management experience is a plus
  • Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and/or HTML experience is a plus
