The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) is seeking Membership and Communications Coordinator. IDSA is a community of over 12,000 physicians, scientists and public health experts who specialize in infectious diseases. The Membership and Communications Coordinator provides administrative support and member communication coordination to the Marketing, Communications and Membership team. Executes specific support processes relating to member programs, recruitment, retention, and renewals, committee meetings, member communications and scheduling to advance member engagement activities related to IDSAs strategic priorities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the execution of the Society Awards program, including supporting marketing efforts, managing the application system, outreach to nominators and awardees, and creating reports for the committee and board of directors.
  • Execute the FIDSA program, including supporting marketing efforts, customer support to applicants, managing the application system, and scoring candidates based on IDSAs FIDSA rubric.
  • Coordinate the email scheduling and production process for member recruitment and retention communications and capture analytics to drive messaging strategy.
  • Provide back-up customer service support when needed for membership inboxes and telephone inquiries.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of member experts for podcasts, media briefings and video interviews. Coordinate questions for podcasts with Senior Director of Public Relations and Marketing.
  • Support MCM staff with creating surveys and analytics, creating workbooks, calendars, and collection and presentation of data.
  • Coordinate the execution of the State and Regional Societies Affiliate Program and IDSA Interest Groups through supporting the online discussion forum and supporting logistics for meetings.
  • Update scheduling calendars for MCM department, maintain SharePoint files and folders in accurate and current state.
  • Post News Releases and Statements to IDSA website as backup to Digital and Technology Strategy department staff.
  • Coordinate agendas, materials & communications for annual media training, Town Hall events, and other member meetings.
  • Provide customer service support for members at IDWeek.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience, Competencies, Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related business field or equivalent related experience can be submitted.
  • Three years of experience in a marketing, communications, or member service support role with increasing responsibilities; non-profit experience preferred.

Competencies: Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Programs, including SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Spark Video and other related design software a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Self-motivated, organized, reliable and flexible
  • Proven ability to follow process directions and think independently to solve problems
  • Able to execute a variety of tasks, manage time efficiently to keep work and projects on track to meet established timelines
  • Open to learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills listening, writing, verbal
  • Good proofreading skills combined with attention to details
