Medicare Pharmacist – Remote Arizona

We’re hiring immediately! Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) is adding a full time, experienced Medicare Pharmacist to our team. Our ideal candidate can work from home within the state of Arizona, has at least two years of Medicare Plan experience, and is excited to act as a pharmacy Star Rating resource for network physicians, health plan members, medical services, care management, member service staff, and other internal partners.

To thrive in this job, you must be able to:

• Define, implement, and manage Medicare health plan pharmacy programs and drugs to improve pharmacy related Star Rating metrics.
• Provide management of pharmacy services to Medicare health plan members consistent with acceptable standards of pharmacy practice and CMS Medicare Part D and Part B regulations and guidance.
• Provide management of medical drugs to Medicare health plan members consistent with acceptable standards of medical practice and CMS Medicare Part C (A plus B) regulations and guidance.
• Produce medical drug utilization reports to assist in analysis of medical drug prior authorization and Part B drug step therapy program.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Serve as subject matter expert for Part B drugs and assist in resolving escalated issues.
• Produce pharmacy utilization reports—including clinical, quality, and economic data—to assist in pharmacy benefit utilization analysis that supports our value-based contracts.
• Manage the end-to-end process of Medicare Part B drugs, conduct audits, train non-clinical and clinical staff.
• Serve as a pharmacy quality improvement educator and training resource to network providers and plan members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy
• Current, unrestricted State of Arizona pharmacist license
• Advanced PC proficiency, including spreadsheet, database and word processing software, PC based productivity tools
• Expert knowledge of operating systems, i.e. Windows and systems networking and communication techniques
