Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

• Provide technical quality testing for neonates, pediatrics, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in the laboratory setting in compliance with CAP, JCAHO, OSHA, AABB, FDA, and CLIA standards
• Demonstrate understanding and application of the MT practice is essential due to the intense field of critical patient testing
• Continuously strive to improve clinical testing through formal and informal education
• Maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols
• Perform required quality control and function verification of equipment
• Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, performs all technical procedures in accordance with all standards set by applicable regulatory agencies including CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, AABB and OSHA

What qualifications you will need:

ASCP, HEW or AMT required within 6 months of hire. ASCP is the preferred certification; continued employment will be based on valid certification

2-year Associate Degree or 4-year Bachelor Degree or Equivalent education (completion of accredited Medical Laboratory Science program)

College graduate or equivalent who has passed a certification examination for Medical Technologist by ASCP, HEW or AMT or the successful completion of an accredited MLT program, with ASCP Board Certification is also accepted

1-3 years of experience in a hospital laboratory preferred
