Full-time position available for a large busy Family Practice group. Duties for our Medical Secretary include building templates and maintaining Provider schedules in our EMR system, maintaining monthly calendars for our physicians and changing or canceling schedules as needed, The Medical Secretary is also responsible for re-credentialing with Payers, renewals for MD licensure and DEA licensures for Providers. The Medical Secretary also is responsible for transcription letters, pre-op clearance letters, coordinating M.D. student rotations for Providers, and taking minutes of Board and Quarterly meetings. The Medical Secretary also coordinates completion of Death certificates and notification of dismissals for patients, plus various other clerical duties.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
Ability to type 55-60 wpm.
General knowledge of EMR; building/maintaining appointment templates.
General knowledge of physical, social and medical science.
Requires familiarity with medical diagnoses, procedures and acceptable medical treatment patterns.
Requires proficient working knowledge and ability to accurately and timely operate and perform computer related tasks with specific equipment and software applications.
Proficient in Microsoft Calendar, Excel, PDF and Word.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
