DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

A Medical Scribe’s responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and performing clerical tasks like printing out lab reports or charting doctor’s notes, operating electronic health records, and anticipating the needs of the physician to ensure efficiency in a clinical setting.

Ultimately, the medical scribe is responsible for recording doctors’ conversations with their patients and assisting with completing paperwork after each encounter. Documentation to include summaries of what was discussed during the consultation or treatment session, as well as referral letters sent on behalf of the patient’s insurer.

The Medical Scribe will work onsite at Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health. They will work in collaboration with Physician staff to coordinate client care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing psychiatric services to clients in a variety of clinical settings (Child, Adolescent, Adults) during scheduled hours.

· Taking notes during patient encounters and documenting them in the electronic health records system.

· Learning about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation.

· Working with a supervising Physician or Doctor to complete and submit medical records.

· Communicating with patients and supervising Physicians professionally.

· Completing all administrative tasks efficiently and helping the Physician take tests and give out medication.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Required Education:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Minimum Required Experience:

• Ability to work with both adult and youth/child populations.

• Proven work experience as a Medical Scribe or similar role.

• Ability to expertly document patient care and transcribe patient encounters.

• Assure the accuracy of all documentation and records.

• Advanced computer skills to transcribe and record information across our system.

• Good bedside manner and interpersonal skills to communicate with patients effectively.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in medical organization.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Medical Terminology course experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

· Experience in delivering high-quality, client-centered care.

· Able to document and navigate EHR independently.

· Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality.

· Serves as a representative of Aliso Ridge Behavioral Health, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration and discretion in all interactions with Provident team members, clients, school system staff and faculty, grantors, funders, regulators and members of the general public.

· Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

· Ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary team.

· Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general and professional documents.

· Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work productively and make independent decisions.

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Full time equates to 40 working hours per week. Part Time hours TBD. Weekend rotation included.

• Continuously meet minimum required hours of direct services to clients each week, allowing remainder of work hours for documentation and supervision.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually low. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is frequently required to do the following:

• Stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand for sustained period of time.
• Walk, push, pull, lift, carry objects from a lower to higher position or horizontally from position to position or otherwise move objects.
• Feel sizes, shapes, temperatures, and textures by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips.
• Express or exchange ideas orally and potentially loudly, accurately, or quickly.
• Perceive the nature of sound with no less than a 40 dB loss @ 1000 Hz and 2000 Hz with or without correction.
• Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
• Able to provide manual holds for patients who are physically acting out and are potentially dangerous (at times this occurs on the floor.)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.43 per hour
