Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assembles records of discharged patients.
• Performs quantitative and qualitative analysis on discharged records.
• Assists in maintaining the incomplete chart list.
• Files charts in the incomplete chart file.
• Performs the release of information function.
• Files completed medical records.
• Answers telephone and handles internal and external requests for releases of information.
• Assists in pulling and checking charts for medical and clinical staff.
• Files loose filing in a timely manner

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of college level courses in medical record sciences is preferred.
• Previous experience in a health information or medical record department setting, preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology required.
• Proficient computer skills are required.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
