We are currently seeking a well-qualified Medical Receptionist to join our PhysicianOne Urgent Care team. This a full-time opportunity with weekday 12-hour shifts (8-8), rotating weekends, and some holidays (9-5). The ideal candidate should be an experienced Medical Receptionist with at least one year of experience being preferred. This position requires an energetic, organized individual that thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Medical Receptionist Primary Responsibilities:
- Medical Receptionist will handle all patient interactions promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Manages multiple phone lines simultaneously
- Maintains strict compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy
- Enter patient demographics, insurance information, and patient appointments into the medical record (EMR) with a high degree of accuracy
- Medical Receptionists must be proficient in insurance verifications
- Collect co-pays, issue receipts, and counsel patients concerning their accounts when necessary
- Retrieve and file medical records, letters, reports, and miscellaneous items as requested as per office policy
- Medical Receptionist is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting room during business hours
Medical Receptionist Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED equivalent is required
- At least one year of current front office experience, preferably in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical information and insurance guidelines
- Ability to work independently in organizing and prioritizing work as required
- Must have attention to detail and possess critical thinking skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required
- Knowledge of medical billing and coding preferred
Covid-19 & Seasonal Influenza Vaccinations are required as this is an essential part of the role.
