IMA Medical Group is hiring for a Medical Economics Analyst. This position works on key initiatives and reporting projects supporting value-based care. Assists in the development and presentation of timely, accurate, actionable data and analysis supporting the department, and corporate key initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare metrics, trends, and complex analytical and financial modeling techniques and methodologies
  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and database theories and concepts
  • Highly skilled at creating reports and visualizations that meet business needs and tell a story with the data that helps drive decision-making
  • Synthesizes large amounts of data and applies advanced analytic methodologies to provide concise and accurate reporting
  • Able to understand industry and market trends, as well as organizational needs; able to incorporate those insights into analyses
  • Manipulates data using multiple data sources (SQL, Qlik, Tableau, etc.) data and analytics to improve decision-making.
  • Evaluates business processes, anticipates requirements, uncovers areas for improvement, and develops and implements solutions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and end-users in the design and development of appropriate solutions; translate user requirements into practical data models
  • Manages projects, develop project plans, and monitors performance.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job- related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


  • Bachelor's degree Business Analytics, Health, Economics or similar
    • 2+ years of analytical experience in health care with Managed Care/Medicare Advantage experience preferred.
    • Analytical work experience within the healthcare industry (i.e. hospitals, network, ancillary, medical facilities, healthcare vendor, commercial health insurance company, large physician practices, managed care organization, etc.)
    • Work experience with SQL creating queries, big data manipulations/analysis, data mining.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong to advanced Excel skill (Use of formulas, pivot tables is required)
    • Knowledge of Qlik Sense or other Business Intelligence software is preferred
    • Knowledge of an EMR, especially eClinicalWorks a plus
    • Highly self-motivated, creative problem solver who can work independently and collaborate through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to produce accurate and timely reports independently
    • Takes initiative, proactively problem solves and provides input to senior management
    • Strong Communication skills. Strong critical thinking skills
