Job Summary*
Medical Canvass Analyst role is to identify, collect, and verify claimant information obtained from medical facility sources; interpret results, and accurately report information retrieved. The analyst achieves the above through high volume calling, managing the daily call-queue and excellent communication both internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Recognize assigned case(s) priority and availability
  • Review client order and initialized medical canvass(es) for discrepancies in geographical area, improper medical facility type, and mismatching or unknown claimant alias information
  • Call and establish the lines of communication with custodians of record based on order priority
  • Exercise efficient order of medical canvasses for timely completion of daily queue
  • Preparation of medical facilities in private application for initial contact
  • Utilize specific industry jargon and required company scripts when applicable
  • Identify medical facility services and physical address
  • Identify, collect, and verify claimant information available at medical facilities in compliance with HIPAA
  • Properly gather and notate contact’s name and database restrictions for each medical facility
  • Confirm proper method for medical record requests
  • Conduct additional research available online as to medical facility information, affiliations, and separate locations.
  • Proper use of private application to save data collected and fulfill client orders
  • Effective communication with team, support staff, and management primarily through Outlook; e-fax requests to medical facilities via email
  • Regular time and attendance
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma (or GED) required; College degree desirable
  • Prior work experience in customer service, collections, a call center, medical, legal, or insurance claims office preferred.
  • Ability to type 35+ wpm and enter data accurately
  • Ability to problem-solve and multi-task with a sense of urgency
  • Strong oral, written, and phone communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills; ability to navigate through the Internet, MS Office, and Outlook
  • Ability to handle private health information confidentially and in line with company policies and procedures in compliance with HIPAA.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skill with, peers, superiors, customers, and vendors
  • Introductory analytical, problem-solving abilities and decision making abilities
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Introductory written, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Some understanding of the internal processes of medical facilities and med-legal terminology.
