THIS IS AN INTERNAL ONSITE POSITION. NO BILLING COMPANIES PLEASE.

The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively and efficiently manage the process of reviewing, following up on, correcting and/or appealing any unpaid and/or rejected claims for different insurance carriers including Workman’s Comp, private insurance and state and federal government issued plans. This position will also be responsible to work patient and insurance credit balances and all incoming correspondence related to refund requests.

Qualifications :

1. High school diploma

2. Minimum of 1 year experience in the medical field.

3. Intermediate knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, IDC-10 codes and modifiers and how they apply to and affect the processing of a claim.

4. Knowledge of CCI edits and Global Service Data.

5. Knowledge of working with electronic claims and an EDI clearinghouse.

6. Knowledge of registration information, the ability to read an insurance card and a patient’s account including charges and payments.

7. Knowledge of basic insurance contracting and allowables; as well as insurance benefits in regards to deductible, coinsurance etc.

8. Knowledge of coordination of benefits when the patient has more than one payer.

9. Understanding of basic medical and insurance terminology.
