Job Description:

Medical Assistant: Molecular Processing Team

This is a remote position within New Jersey. Must be able to travel to office locations within central New Jersey area for training and workshops. MUST LIVE IN NJ

Requirements:

• Certified Medical Assistant with experience in a medical office/hospital setting.
• Proficient in EMR
• Proficient with Microsoft office I.E. Word, PowerPoint, Excel
• Proficient in Medical Terminology and Procedures
• Able to work in high volume setting
• Able to work remotely and autonomously
• Have access to WIFI /Broadband
• Able to travel if necessary
• Proficient with office duties, filing, faxing and printing
• Able to prioritize tasks based on deadlines and demand
• Able to create reports and benchmarks for metric purposes
• Mandatory Covid 19 and booster vaccine

Assigned Duties:

• Review chart for necessary materials and data for order completions. Including but not limited to Demographics, Pathology Reports and Office visit notes.
• Complete order requests in applicable portals with all the information provided by both MD and chart.
• Identify any challenges within the order processing and notify the MD/supportive staff accordingly to ensure no delays are encountered.
• Follow up on each test ordered for specimen procurement and receipt by designated processing lab.
• Communicate any delays, interruptions and failures to supervisor and physician. Provide an alternate specimen or form of testing, when necessary, upon delegation by MD.
• Check portals daily for any updates and results. Upload to patients’ chart in real time.
• Communicate with community pathology labs and pathologists for any order inquiries and revisions.
• Communicate with testing facilities and service representatives via phone and email to ensure expeditious processing.
• Peer to Peer requests: Assist MD with scheduling of Peer to Peer for Molecular Testing and update the Testing Organization of approval or denial in real time. Provide MD with testing information to ensure a successful peer to peer communication.
• Letters of Medical Necessity: Communicate with ordering physician need for letter and the required information so MD can provide verbiage. MA will place on letterhead and forward that to corresponding insurance company/testing facility.
• Complete Documentation requested by both insurance and testing facility under delegation of LPN/MD to verify diagnosis, stage etc.
• Provide testing facility and insurance company with the appropriate records necessary to process the testing claim for a speedy approval.
• Ensure that all communication is documented via a text note in a clear concise manner so supportive departments and physicians are aware of the progress of testing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
