Overview:
Perform administrative functions requiring independent judgment and timeliness of projects given to enhance the effectiveness and quality of the medical provider and the organization. Provide support in functional areas which may include duties such as obtaining information from chart reviews, patient interviews, provider communications, databases. These functions will provide support in administrative duties which may include data entry in EHR, medical records filing, general filing, billing, insurance verification, scheduling of appointments, resolving customer service concerns, answering, and triaging phone calls and other general administrative duties as required.
Responsibilities:
  • Meets physical and sensory requirements stated below and be able to work in the described environment
  • Identifies and participates in process improvement initiatives that improve the customer experience, enhance workflow, and/or improve the work environment
  • Completes records by recording patient pertinent information into all systems needed for the task at hand
  • Takes telephone messages and provide feedback and answers as directed to patient/medical providers/pharmacy calls
  • Triages and processes messages from patients and others to medical provider and record as required in patients’ medical record etc.
  • Works with Business Office Manager and SHC Medical Partners Billing Services to assist in providers’ billing each month
  • Works with co-workers, departments, and medical provider to complete necessary documents, information, and processes for company programs such as Chronic Care Management, Behavioral Health Integration, etc.
  • Receives inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Successfully operates required tools such as care management platforms, electronic health record, Excel, printers, emails, etc., as directed
  • Assists department directors in administrative matters (such as: reports, correspondence, etc.)
  • Attends in-service education programs to meet educational requirements
  • Coordinates the Medical Provider visit scheduling including, managing pre-determined recurring appointment scheduling and new patient “work-ins”
  • Develops the medical chart for any new patient by entering the required information in accordance with established guidelines
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Other special projects and duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years healthcare experience
  • Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
  • Proficient with medical terminology
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation
  • Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize, coordinate and simultaneously maintain multiple projects with high level of quality and productivity
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions
